March 2023 Tasting Notes

2023-03_rose.png

Elouan Rose

For our Elouan Rosé, we bring together fruit from three distinct terrains along Oregon’s premiere Western vineyards. The diversity of these cool climate areas combined with an elongated growing season creates wine with intensity of fruit flavor, structure, and a fresh vibrant acidity. This is a bespoke rosé where grapes were grown and harvested with the specific intention of making rosé; and not a saignée rosé, which can be a by-product of making red wine.  This wine should be enjoyed very well chilled.  It is finished with a screwcap to preserve the crisp, clean aromas and tastes, and is a great choice for outdoor occasions: picnics, lunch on the patio, or enjoyed on its own as an aperitif.

Farm Charm Pinot Grigio

Our Pinot Grigio grapes come from various regions and quality growers in California. 100% Pinot Grigio highlighting lush, fresh, refreshing qualities. We think of this wine as a great "first glass" of the night but is pairs very well with salads lightly coated with Vinaigrette dressings. This is the wine to drink poolside, on the boat, or at the park. Better get 2 bottles, this goes down very easy.

Seven Hills Sauvignon Blanc

Pale yellow with hues of green. Aromas of grapefruit, lime zest, and quince with hints of lemongrass, and crushed stone. The palate is medium light with flavors of fresh peaches, lemon zest, and wet stone. This Sauvignon Blanc has a refreshing and lingering citrus finish.

Pairs with grilled asparagus topped with parmesan cheese, or a peach and goat cheese arugula salad or oysters. Perfect for a sunny patio.

Farm Charm Merlot

Our Merlot is sourced from various regions and growers in California. Merlot has a very distinct mouth feel and flavor that other reds do not posses. Ours is a great compliment to red meat lightly grilled, dishes with gravy, or smoked meats. There is nothing like a rack of pork or beef ribs, coated with BBQ sauce (the kind that ends up on both sides of your cheeks) and a nice glass of our Merlot.

Boen Pinot Noir

Dark Plum in color with ruby red highlights. On the nose, luscious notes of raspberry swirl along side dark plum notes accompanied by hints of rosemary and sage. Rich and well balanced with bright blackberry, Bing cherry, dark chocolate and a hint of caramel on the palate. This wine is sure to please with its rounded mouth-feel, and long, smooth, velvety finish.

VINEYARD

Our Red Blend is selected from specific lots from outstanding Napa Valley vineyards, including St. Helena, Howell Mountain, Oakville and Spring Mountain.

WINEMAKING

Care is taken to night harvest each block for optimal maturity. For gentle extraction of varietal character, we cold soak the must before fermentation. The wine spends 18 months in barrels, racking every three months to let the wine breathe and develop our signature mouthfeel and texture.
