Bacchus Guidelines

Eligibility

Eligibility

Traditionally Bacchus is open to all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning persons only.  This guideline also applies to any guests you might register and bring along.  The exception to this is for events that specifically state you are welcome to invite "LGBT friends and Straight Allies".  When in doubt - please ask us in advance.

Eligibility

Schedule

Wine tastings are generally held on the second Friday of the month. There may be times it will be different because the host for the month has requested a different day.

Eligibility

Invitations

Notifications of wine tastings are done through email.  About 2 weeks before the event an email will be sent to all Bacchus members - which is the official invite to the wine tasting. If you would like to attend, you will need to reply to the email to make your reservation for yourself, and your guests if applicable.

Eligibility

Reservations

All members must reserve a spot each month they wish to attend. This is important since we base the number of bottles per tasting according to the number of members who have made reservations. If you plan to attend, please reply to the email as soon as possible to get on the list, since space is limited at each wine tasting.  Plus frequently our host sets a capacity limit due to the size of their space so the sooner you sign up the better your chances of not making it to the waitlist.

Eligibility

Guests

If members wish to bring a guest they must provide their guest's first and last name when replying to the notification email.  (note: the first point above also applies to your guests)

Eligibility

Wine Glasses

Members must bring their own wine glass to the tasting.

Eligibility

Snacks

Food at the wine tasting is meant for refreshment and cleansing the palate. Is it not meant to be dinner.

Eligibility

Cost

The cost for the wine tasting is $20 per person (unless otherwise stated in the email).

Eligibility

Payment

Members and guests that come to the wine tasting must sign in and either pay in advance or upon their arrival.  Note - Some events require advance payment.

Eligibility

Cancellation / No Shows

If something unexpected comes up and you or a guest cannot attend the wine tasting, then please let us know as soon as possible. We frequently have a waiting list and the sooner you tell us that someone is unable to attend, the sooner we can refill that position and open up the wait list.  Any member (or guest) who has a reservation for a wine tasting but fails to attend (no-show), or cancels with less than 48 hours notice may be billed if we are unable to fill your spot(s).
